what if you take an old rusty cab and replace it with a nicer one then put the original vin on the new cab

My question is in California. Can you claim back a vehicle under your name if the buyer never transferred the title and abandoned the vehicle? Because this has happened to me twice and wanted to know if it happens again. If I can just claim it and take it back to my house and just ask for a duplicate title.

Hi I’m from ny and I bought a car and got on the road then a year later I sold the car then 2 days later after I sold the the buyer contact me and said that he can’t register the car because it has a lien on it I said that’s impossible because I bought the car and had it on the road and I didn’t have no problem with getting it on the road so I’m guessing DMV made a mistake. I don’t know if it had a lien when I bought it. So I have a title on my name with a lien recording and I can’t get contact with the owner of the car when I bought it so what do I do now?

I bought a used 2021 Subaru Forester from a Germain Honda dealership in Arizona. It showed a clean title on Carmax. I traded in my 2017 Subaru Forester with a title. This was a cash sale. I didn’t get a title, I Al’s didn’t get a signed sales contract. I did get an Arizona Temporary Vehicle Registration & a vehicles buyer’s order. Please help!

If there is no title, it s parts car. If I get a killer deal on a car/truck with no title, then its a parts car and the value is like 50% , or 1000 bucks maybe.

How does a dad obtain a lien on the title to a car that his daughter borrowed money from him to buy? Massachusetts RMV rejected the title application naming me as lienholder. Daughter is in tears.

One thing these scams seem to always have in common is a ridiculously low price often a third to fourth of market value for a beautiful fully restored car. For some reason they also seem to like post ridiculously low mileage. You might see a beautiful 63 split window Corvette coupe with 20k miles for 40K$. Anyone that knows anything about vintage cars knows that can't be true. But take someone that maybe doesn't have much knowledge of the market and they think they are making the deal of the century. Almost always scams have two components of greed to really work best. Greed on the part of the scammer and greed on the part of the scammee. Doesn't matter if it is classic cars or Nigerian bank accounts.

a lot of this is incorrect, especially on the insurance. My Montana title has my Kansas physical address right on it as well as my Montana mailing address. I have never given my insurance agent the exact address on my registration and he never asked. I give him the address where it is garaged, which just happens to be the same address on the registration most of the time. At one point I had two vehicles that the address they were garaged at and was honestly and truthfully reported to the insurance company was not the registered address of the vehicles.

I googled "(county name) petition for court ordered title" and a pdf that walks me through it came right up. There's a $300 filing fee for me & I have to do some leg work of contacting previous owners every county may be different.

Bad info in this video. I'm from Kentucky. The sheriffs here do NOT issue titles. They have NOTHING to do with titles other than they must do an inspection for cars purchased out of state, and they will NOT do that unless you have the out of state title in hand and signed over to you. The county clerk handles all title work, and even then they must send it all to the state agency. There's nothing a local clerk can do to circumvent the state laws around titles. Any such attempt would clearly be illegal.

This is true, try buying a car from market place with no title most likely skipped around different owners or stolen, you’ll be left with bricks or having it confiscated
